A Mermaid's Tale
Are mermaids real? I don't know how you feel about that, but I'll have you know that I am real, I am alive and I believe everyone should live life as though it were full of magic... (and mermaids too!)
Hi there! You can call me Mermaid Phantom, and I'm the face behind The Magic Crafter.
Since as long as I can remember, I have been drawn to what you might call "magic." As a child, I used to spend hours upon hours romping around outside in search of new "friends" to play with. Butterflies, bumblebees, toads and even spiders often got to tag along with me through flower gardens and into my own make-believe land of adventure and fairy tale fun. Back in the day, I spent a lot of time chasing after "The Egg Stealer" with Spyro the Dragon, searching for mermaid treasures with my sisters in grandma's pond, and whipping up "magic potions" with my next-door neighbor for our older siblings... who apparently didn't like the idea of eating dirt and crushed seed-pods! In my youth, I was always on the search for magical adventures to go on, and when I couldn't find one I would do my best to create it with my imagination or through my drawings and artwork. Oooohh... being a kid was great! ♥
However, everyone must grow up at some point, right? But nobody said you couldn't grow up to be a mermaid... so that's exactly what I decided to do!
While I may not be quite a spirited as I once was (I've gone through my dark times, but we can talk about that another day!), I think it is important to keep alive that spark of curiosity, wonder and imagination that made the world such a magical place back in the times of childhood.
A Mermaid on a Mission
Every video that I make, every blog post that I write, every event I attend and every bottle of fairy dust that I create is done with the hope of adding a dash of sparkly cheer to this world. I am a mermaid on a mission to live a wild and free fairy tale life and to help and inspire you to do the same. The world we live in today can be a bit dull at times, a bit depressing and a bit scary too, but that doesn't mean we should give up on looking for the good in it. For many of us as children, the whole world was a thing full of wonder. If magic existed then, then why not now? Let's "Live Life Magically!"
Mermaid Phantom is blogger, an artist, and a video creator on YouTube. She has been creating crafting and mermaiding videos on her channel since the spring of 2016. In addition to building her online fairy tale kingdom, Phantom also enjoys flopping up on the shores of Grand Traverse Bay, near Traverse City, Michigan to surprise the locals with the occasional "mermaid sighting." She currently lives with her wonderful and supportive family (including 2 ferrets, a dog, and a snake named Stubby), who share her love for the outdoors and for "off-kilter" things. ♥
