Home Decorations for Mermaids and Mermen
Be on the lookout for mermaid-themed home decor videos. I'll continue on with my regular content, but I would like to add in some DIY tutorial videos that will help you to deck out your mermaid cave too!
Mermaid Cave in the Making
One of my favorite things about creating video content is having the ability to decorate my backgrounds as I like. I share my room with my younger sister so there's only so much I can do to make it look nice. But with my videos, I have the freedom to create my own little world through prop placement. I'm hoping to expand this "little world" into a bit of a bigger world by creating cute home decor to spruce up some part of the house... Somewhere! XD
Did you catch this week's video? It was the first of many DIY home decorating videos to come. Of course, there will be other random fairytale themed odds and ends to be crafted too, but I'm really considering creating more items focused around home decoration since it is something I really like.
Inspiration from the Workplace
Back when I first started working at one of the local coffee shops, I had the pleasure of working for a very lovely couple from Georgia. While I won't go into detail about the working experience in this post (it was wonderful but it would kill my already sore wrists to write all of the reasons why), I will say that I learned so much from the owners about all sorts of things. Obviously, I learned how to make some very nice coffee drinks, but that wasn't all. Additionally, I learned a great deal about customer service, a few things about running a business, how to use an electric power-sander (among many other things! Hahaha! :D) and had the great pleasure of learning how to style the items in the store to make them visually appealing.
The owners were a lovely husband-and-wife team that also had experience with renovating old homes and doing home staging. Therefore, the displays (they sold home goods too) at the coffee shop they owned were always beautiful and never failed to received compliments from those who stopped in. While working at the store, the owners taught me some of their styling tricks and allowed me to help arrange items throughout the building. I enjoyed helping them with this so much and their passion for keeping their place tastefully decorated really rubbed off on me. I use a lot of what I learned from the couple to arrange the props in the background of my videos and would like to focus on creating more mermaid-themed home goods so that I can apply the same teachings to spruce up my room. (And hopefully my own home someday!!)

With that in mind, are there any certain things that you would like for me to create? I'm thinking of doing some signage, centerpieces, and maybe even some decorative lights, though I am open to any and every suggestion. It's "a mermaid's life for me" and I want my home to be a reflection of that. I cannot wait to get started with crafting up some mermaid home goods to share with you!
